Assassin's Creed 2, New Ghost Recon, Red Steel 2 Coming From Ubisoft

Ubisoft plans to release seven franchise titles, three new brands and four movie licensed games in their 2009/2010 fiscal year, which starts in April, the company said today. Among the games will be Assassin’s Creed 2, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Anno. Although we have to be cautious in light of the current economic environment, we expect Ubisoft to once again be one of the most dynamic and profitable publishers in the games industry in 2009.” Guillemot also let slip that Ubisoft is indeed working on a MotionPlus-sporting Red Steel 2, but declined to discuss any details about the game. Ubisoft expect the video game market to grow five to 10 percent in 2009 and also expect to invest more in blockbuster games and less on casual ones. Not that they’re giving up on their Petz or Imagine brands.
